‘Hawaii Five-0’ & ‘Magnum P.I.’ Crossover Set for January

CBS’ shows, Hawaii Five-0 and Magnum P.I., are set for a full-on crossover on January 03, 2020 in back-to-back episodes!

TVLINE – TVLine has learned that a full-on crossover between CBS’ Hawaii Five-0 and Magnum P.I. is officially happening, on Friday, Jan. 3, 2020 in back-to-back episodes.

In fact, showrunner Peter M. Lenkov tells us that the Magnum half of the crossover has already completed filming, and the Five-0 half is nearly done.

Though this merging of the Aloha State-based procedurals did not come to fruition during Magnum‘s freshman run, as initially hoped, Lenkov had told TVLine over the summer that he was resolved to making it happen this TV season. Weeks later, he updated us, “We have narrowed down a story.”

That story will find “our Five-0 guys kicking down doors” to track down a POI at a hotel — unaware that private eyes Thomas Magnum and Juliet Higgins are surveilling the same room. “In a way, Higgins and Magnum become witnesses that Five-0 needs to help them,” says Lenkov. “And our two worlds collide!”

Specifically, Magnum, Higgins, TC and Rick (played by Jay Hernandez, Perdita Weeks, Stephen Hill and Zachary Knighton) will appear in that Friday’s Five-0 episode alongside McGarrett & Co., after which Five-0‘s Junior, Tani and Quinn (played by Beulah Koale , Meaghan Rath and Katrina Law) will continue on to Magnum P.I.

“It’s a big-stakes story that really feels like a two-hour movie,” says Lenkov. And while the series’ showrunner feared he would have a hard time convincing Magnum‘s much smaller cast that the “double-ups” (filming two episodes at once) were worth it, “That was not an issue at all.”

Katrina Law Joins CBS’ Frankenstein Pilot ‘Alive’

New project alert! Katrina is set to co-lead the CBS drama pilot, Alive, a modern interpretation of the classic Frankenstein tale. Ryan Phillippe and Aaron Staton are also set to star.

DEADLINE – Written/executive produced by Jason Tracey and directed/executive produced by Uta Briesewitz, Alive centers on Mark Escher (Phillippe), a San Francisco homicide detective who’s mysteriously brought back to life after being killed in the line of duty. But as he resumes his old life and he and his wife Elizabeth (Law) realize he isn’t the same person he used to be, they zero in on the strange man behind his resurrection: Dr. Victor Frankenstein (Staton).

Phillippe’s Escher, a San Francisco police investigator, was presumed dead after an attack and destructive fire at his home. Six months later, he shockingly reappears and is reunited with his wife, Elizabeth. But something has changed. A shadow has fallen across his sunny disposition, and he’s haunted by visions of the case he was working on when he died. He and Elizabeth will seek answers about who shot and abducted him, and what was done to him.

Law’s Elizabeth Lavenza, a pathologist/medical examiner, is stunned when her husband returns from the dead, and though she’s thrilled to have him back, she knows there’s a secret behind his disappearance, his reappearance and his new personality – and she thinks she knows exactly who’s responsible.

Staton’s Victor Frankenstein is a brilliant, slightly odd and driven – perhaps obsessed – scientist who is working on a secret, cutting-edge project. On the run from an ethics board in China, Victor is back in the U.S., where he works in a lab and is very involved in whatever it is that’s going on with Escher. He’s also Escher’s wife’s ex.

Katrina Law Joins Crackle’s ‘The Oath’

Former Training Day star Katrina Law is set as the female lead opposite Sean Bean in Crackle’s upcoming drama series The Oath, executive produced by Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson (Power) and his G-Unit Film & Television.

Written and created by former Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Deputy Joe Halpin (Hawaii Five-O, Secrets and Lies), the 10-episode original series explores a world of gangs made up of those sworn to protect and defend and sheds light on corrupt and secret societies that are nearly impossible to join. Only a select few make the cut – but once inside, members will do what they must to protect one another from enemies on the outside and from within their own ranks.

Law will play Karen Beach, a police officer, and the sole female member of the Ravens cop gang, who has a tendency to overcompensate by out-toughing the macho company she runs with and gets involved in a forbidden love affair with a member of a rival cop gang. Along with Bean, Law joins previously announced members of the ensemble cast Ryan Kwanten, Cory Hardrict and Arlen Escarpeta.

Katrina Law Returning to ‘Arrow’ Season 5

Another familiar face is returning to Arrow.

EW has learned exclusively that Katrina Law will reprise her role as Nyssa al Ghul for multiple episodes that culminate in an epic fight between Nyssa and her half-sister Talia al Ghul (Lexa Doig) in the upcoming season 5 finale.

Law, who currently stars on CBS’ Training Day, first appeared in season 2, where viewers discovered that when Sara (Caity Lotz) left the island, she joined the League of Assassins and struck up a romance with Nyssa, the youngest daughter of Ra’s al Ghul (Matt Nable).

Talia, meanwhile, didn’t appear until season 5, when it was revealed that she helped train Oliver (Stephen Amell) in Russia — but she also trained his foe Prometheus (Josh Segarra) after learning that Ollie killed her father. Talia had long ago left the League to create her own cult of warriors after she realized her father would never allow her to be the Head of the Demon.

Ever since Talia’s introduction, the eventuality of an epic showdown between the pair has been highly anticipated. “They’re close enough and different enough that I would love, at some point, to do a story with Nyssa and Talia,” executive producer Marc Guggenheim previously told EW.
